end of april fencing update

Hello Fencers and families!

SAVE THE DATE: 
August 10, 2024 High Plains Fencing Guild is planning its first sanctioned competitive tournament 

It will be held at the Library Innovation Center (LINC) in Greeley.  We are also considering a youth tournament. Let your coach know if you are interested in participating or assisting. We will have referee opportunities and the possibility of getting referee certifications for those that pass the test and are approved through demonstration.

THANKS!  In April, Bridget G, Dominic C, and Manager Mike M came to the tournaments and served as referees in addition to Assistant Coaches Clara and Nik.

​Reminder: The last class of each month is a tournament and we have to hustle to get all the matches in our time slot.  Late attendees cannot participate after the tournament begins.

TOURNAMENT NEWS

If you are interested in participating in competitive tournaments,  you will need to have a competitive fencing membership with the USA Fencing and the requisite equipment.  Please see Trevor Wilson or your coach for more information.

In April, Coach Elliot and Josh Miller represented our club at ROC of the Rockies. Coach Elliot (epee), along with Jack Branum (saber), Bridget Garcia (foil) and Heather Hepworth (epee) represented HPFG at the Flower Power Tournament in Boulder.
